    Leather Binding, Rebound

    Handsomely bound in a full morocco prize binding by the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers, awarded in 1877. This volume is undated. Dated here from the prize plate. The Worshipful Company of Leathersellers is a City of London livery company, originally associated with the leather trade; today it is more involved in charitable, educational and heritage activities. The Holy Bible Containing Old and New Testaments. Translated out of the original tongues; and with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by His Majesty's Special Command. Appointed to be read in churches.

    Condition

    Bound in a full morocco prize binding by the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers, awarded in 1877. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in slight loss to morocco, more so to joints. Front and rear joints cracked, with binding materials slightly exposed, but holding. prize plate to front paste down. Very slight offsetting with the odd spot and one or two handling marks to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots and slight age toning to fore edges.
