Three popular works by noted nineteenth-century British author, Charles Dickens. 

Part of a sixteen volume Household Edition by Chapman & Hall.

Uniformly bound in the publisher's decorative green cloth binding.

The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club was published circa 1874 and includes four full page illustrated plates, along with fifty-three in-text illustrations, all by 'Phiz' (Hablot Knight Browne). 

The Old Curiosity Shop was published circa 1874 and includes three full page illustrated plates, along with thirty-six in-text illustrations by C. Green. 

The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit was published circa 1874 a full page illustrated frontispiece, along with fifty-eight in-text illustrations by J. Barnard. 

Collated and complete. 

Containing a previous owner's signature to the front free-endpaper of Martin Chuzzlewit

Charles Dickens (1812-1870) was a highly popular Victorian author and social critic. He is often regarded as one of the most prolific writers of the nineteenth century, and is most well-known for his works A Christmas Carol (1843), Oliver Twist (1838), Great Expectations (1861), David Copperfield (1850), and many more.

Condition

In the publisher's decorative green cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with just some light shelf wear and bumping to the head and tails of the spines and extremities. Previous owner's signature to the front free-endpaper of 'Martin Chuzzlewit'. Internally, front hinge to 'Martin Chuzzlewit' lightly strained, but remaining binding firm to all volumes. A small stain to the front free-endpaper of 'Martin Chuzzlewitt'. Spotting to the first and last few pages of each volume, and the odd spot throughout, but otherwise pages are bright and clean.
