A very scarce edition of this popular work, part of Routledge's Shilling Toy Books series.

Rebound in a modern cloth binding, with the original wraps bound in.

An English translation of this medieval German fable following an anthropomorphic trickster red fox. The classic fable is a parody of courtly love stories and chansons de geste. 

Illustrated with four chromolithograph plates, and one double-paged chromolithograph plate. 

Collated, complete.

Condition

Rebound in a cloth binding, with the original wraps bound in. Externally, smart. Fading to the spine. Light marks to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots. Textblock has been repaired to the gutter.
