A delightful nineteenth-century work on drawing room card games and tricks, including chapters on general tricks, playing card tricks, tricks of conjuring, sleight-of-hand, and legerdemain, and the secrets of grand magic. 

Written by Gustave Frikell and translated and edited by W.H. Cremer. 

Including over three hundred in-text illustrations. 

Containing two pages of publisher's adverts to the front and thirty-six pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with some light shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Some light rubbing to the joints. Internally, generally firmly bound. A small tear to the head of pages 15 to 24, not affecting readability. Scattered spots to the first and last few pages, and a few spots throughout, otherwise pages are generally bright and clean.
