Illustrated with a frontispiece and fourteen plates. Collated complete. A study of the natural history and geology of the countries visited during the voyage round the world of H.M.S. Beagle, beginning on 27th December 1831 and returning on 2nd October 1836. This volume documents Darwin's observations and findings from the Beagle, a journey that significantly influenced his later theories on evolution and natural selection. Condition

Bound in full tree calf. Externally, sound with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. Small cracks to the joints with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and age toning to the extremities. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown.
