Illustrated throughout with over two hundred engravings. A collection of the works of George Gordon Byron, an English poet and peer considered one of the major figures of the Romantic movement, and regarded as being among the greatest of English poets. With titles including The Corsair, Lara, The Bride of Abydos, Don Juan, and The Waltz, among others. Illustrated by Kenny Meadows, a British caricaturist and illustrator; Birket Foster, a British illustrator, watercolourist and engraver; Hablot Knight Browne, a British artist and illustrator known by his pen name Phiz; Gustave Janet, a French visual artist; and Edward Morin, a British fine artist and illustrator. Dated from the National Trust Libraries.
Condition
Rebacked in the original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with light damp marks to the board edges. Minor loss to the cloth at the board edges with the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd small spot and light age toning.
