An early edition of this work. With the same pagination as the first edition, but lacking a date to the title page. Without the errata leaf found in the first edition.

With bookplate removal to front pastedown, and the former owner's inscription of W. Behrond, 1868, to the front pastedown.

The author was a barrister, and worked as a magistrate in Hertfordshire and Wiltshire.
