Description

Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

With an engraved title page. The author's best known work, said to illustrate his religious genius. Within the work Doddridge observes that true Christian faith exists in hardly anyone's hearts, and sets out to remedy this fact, with chapters on sinners, salvation, prayer, the Gospel, the convert, spiritual decay, and more. Written by Philip Doddridge, an English Nonconformist (specifically, Congregationalist) minister, educator, and hymnwriter.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light spotting and age toning to the endpapers.
