Isaac Watts' popular and often reprinted work of moral and divine songs for children. This work was first published in 1715, and went through more than one thousand editions by the mid 19th century. 

'Divine Songs' collects together didactic moral poetry for children, the best known in this volume being 'Praise for Creation and Providence', 'Against Idleness and Mischief', and 'The Sluggard'. 

Undated, dated the prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down.

Condition

In a quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Boards are rubbed, resulting in a small amount of loss of paper to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Bound without endpapers. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with only a few scattered spots. Small chip to the title page. Repair to the final leaf.
