What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Original Binding, Very Scarce

A very scarce work, being an extract from Rousseau's 'Emile', which was very popular and famous, and was often published separately.

In the original French.

This volume sees a philosopher as he critiques the ecclesiastical institution, dogmatism, and heteronomy. An interesting piece of moral philosophy in which Rousseau uses a young Savoyard vicar to speak after than himself. He questions evil and its source, and criticises established religion.

Illustrated with a frontispiece.

'Emile' is one of the best and most important of Rousseau's writings, a fictionalised treatise on education and the nature of man.
