In four volumes.

A series of operatic excerpts suitable for vocals or flute with basso continuo, four volumes comprising of sheet music extracts of many popular eighteenth century operas.

Including musical pieces from 'Les Trois Sultanes', 'Le Maitre en Droit', 'D'Annette & Lubin', 'Le Roi & Le Fermier', 'Le Marechal Ferrant', 'Sancho Panca', 'Le Bucheron', 'Mazet', 'On Ne S'Avise Jamais de Tout', 'Du Petit Maitre en Province', 'De la Pupille Rusee', and more. 

Part I lacks the final leaf, Part III lacks the title page and contents, Part IV lacks the title page.

Part IV is slightly smaller in size than the other three parts, and have patterned paper to the boards, rather than marbled paper.

Published by Johann Julius Hummel, who was a major publisher of the Viennese Classical period. He published around one thousand instrumental works.

Condition

Bound in paper covered boards. Externally, worn, with rubbing to the boards and spines, resulting in loss of paper to the spines and extremities. Paper to the boards is lifting in places. A little bumping to the extremities. Small tide mark to the front board of Part III. Hinges of Part I are strained. Front hinge of Part II is starting. Hinges of Part IV are starting. Label to the rear paste downs. Internally, Part III is firmly bound, Parts I, II, and IV are generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with some spots. Part I lacks the final leaf, Part III lacks the title page and contents, Part IV lacks the title page. Pages 27-30 of Part II are working loose. Chip to page 75/76 of Part IV.
