What Our Customers Say...
Description
Leather Binding, Rebound
This copy of the King James Version of the Apocrypha is bound without the title page or any material leading to an exact identification of the date of publication. Following the King James tradition, this Apocrypha was likely extracted from between the Old Testament and New Testament of a larger Holy Bible.
Beginning with I. Esdras and concluding with II. Maccabees, this is based upon the KJV of 1611 with the use of the 'Apocrypha' running title.
With the collation: [1] A8-L8, M6.
In an attractive quarter morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Endpapers renewed, but retaining one original front blank, and two to the rear.
Condition
Rebound in quarter morocco, with cloth covered boards. Externally, fine. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Endpapers renewed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, with the odd light spot. Small area of worming towards fore edge of each leaf, obscuring on average one word of text per page. Worming more significant from gathering L onwards, penetrating to rear blanks and free endpaper. Significant worming to tail of gutter of leaves B7-D8, obscuring a few words of text to each leaf.
