What Our Customers Say...
Description
Leather Binding
An important dictionary compiled by Nathan Bailey.
This work was first published in 1721, and proved to be so popular that it had reached its 30th edition by 1802. From its first publication it was the most popular English dictionary, until the publication of Johnson's formidable dictionary in 1755.
Bailey's 'Dictionary' was one of the first English dictionaries to focus on defining words of common usage, as well as some lesser known, more obscure words.
