A very scarce first edition.

A discussion of a historical eccelsiastical case that took place in early eighteenth century Scotland involving a dispute between a minister named Mr. Blaikie and the local Presbyterian church authority, the Presbytery of Auchterarder.

The case took place within the context of the Church of Scotland, which was governed by a system of church courts, including presbyteries, synods, and ultimately the General Assembly.

Undated; dated circa 1737 via the National Library of Scotland.

With the faint inscription of Wil. Erskyne to the head of the front wrap.

Inscription 'Mary Stuart' to head of leaf F2.

A very scarce work.

Condition

Unbound, as issued. Light spotting to wrap perimeters, with faint inscription to head of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright. Former owner's inscription to head of leaf F2.
