A two volume set. 

This set features two historical works, including; 

'Friend of the People' by Asa Briggs, which provides a historical account of the popular former department store chain 'Lewis's', covering the growth of the business and its social standing. 

and 

'A History of Flying' by C. H. Gibbs-Smith', a fascinating account of the history of aviation, from the development of gliding and ballooning, to the airships and aeroplanes. 

In the publisher's original cloths with the original unclipped illustrated dust wrappers.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloths with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally excellent with only slight bumping to the extremities and minimal fading to the spine to 'flying'. The wraps are smart with sunning, prominently to the spines, slight handling marks, the odd small closed tear to the extremities, and spotting to 'Friends of the People'. Tape repairs to the spines and spotting to the versos to 'Friends of the People'. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
