A set of four bright children's annuals from Blackie and Son, offering a substantial range of short stories and poems adorned with illustrations throughout, including colour plates. 

Among the many contributors here include Alice Talwin Morris, May Wynne, Jessie Pope, Ethel Corkey, Natalie Joan, Margaret Baker and Angela Brazil. With artists such as Gordon Browne, Warwick Earnshaw, Gilbert Holiday and Joyce L. Brisley. 

In the original decorative quarter cloth bindings, with illustrative paper covered boards. With illustrated endpapers. 

Comprising the 16th, 22nd, 23rd, and 31st Years. Dated either from contemporary ownership inscriptions or identical copies. 

16th Year (1922) - Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, twenty-two plates, and numerous black-and-white drawings in-text. With stories such as 'Roy's Turnip Lantern', 'Willow Pattern Land' and 'When Jacky Caught a Tin-Fish'

22nd Year (1925) - Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, twenty-three colour plates and numerous in-text black-and-white drawings. With stories such as 'A Holiday with Froggie' and 'Basil and the Bandits'. 

23rd Year (1926) - Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, twenty-one colour plates and numerous in-text black-and-white drawings. With stories such as 'The Twins and He', 'The Broken Cup' (play) and 'Snapdragon'. 

31st Year (1934) - Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, eighteen plates and numerous in-text black-and-white drawings. With stories such as 'The Secret House', 'The Magician's Aunt' and 'Tom's Morning Walk'.
