A collection of 3 titles by scholars of Italian literature.
Bound in their original coloured cloth, in lovely condition, and all in original, unclipped dust wrappers. All with gilt lettering to the spine.
This collection includes two first editions - the greatly influential title 'The Ladder of Vision', written by American scholar and translator Irma Brandeis, and 'An Approach to Dante' by Thomas G. Bergin. Bergin was perceived as a leader voice on Dante, who also wrote his own translations of the works he analyses here.
Condition
Bound in their original respective blue, red and green cloths. Externally, in lovely condition. Slight shelf wear to extremities. Small area of discolouration to vol2 head. All in original unclipped dust wrappers. Occasional close tears to dust wrappers. Chipping to dust wrapper extremities, the odd small area of loss to paper. Age toning, spotting and sunning to dust wrappers. Red mark to reverse of vol2 dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Slight strain to vol1. Pages generally bright and clean. Occasional spotting to text block edges.
