This work is an evocative reimagining of Shakespeare’s King Lear, told from the perspective of Lear’s queen. According to the Guardian this work is an "impressive, opulently written debut novel begins where King Lear ends, as his invisible queen tells her story at last". This work earned a place in The Observer’s Best Debut Novelists 2021, and was longlisted for the Walter Scott Prize.
