A very scarce limited edition first edition thus, with this being number 0717 of 1,924 numbered limited editions, signed by the photographers Neil Leifer and Howard L. Bingham, whose photographs illustrate the works.
Housed in the publisher's original cloth covered clamshell box, and cardboard shipping box with limitation label.
The book itself is still sealed in the publisher's wrapping paper.The book was £2000 when new.
This work brings together Pulitzer Prize winning fighter Norman Mailer's classic commentary of the match, 'The Fight', with Neil Leifer and Howard L. Bingham's colour photographs.
Mailer's work 'serves as a living testimony to the pageantry, sheer physical power, and deep psychological interplay of the fighters', according to the publisher.
Condition
In the publisher's original shipping box - retaining the original limitation label - and cloth covered decorative clamshell box. The book itself is as new, still sealed in the publisher's original paper wrap. The slip case is in fine condition, and exceptionally bright. The publisher's shipping box is in very good condition indeed, with light bumping to board perimeters, and rubbing to limitation label.
