The High Mountains of Portugal, by Yann Martel (2016). This copy is in the publisher's original pictorial hardback. Drawn to his ancestral village, he embarks on the journey with an unlikely companion, a chimpanzee.

In the Heart of Hidden Things, by Kit Whitfield (2022). Rooted in British folklore, this lyrical novel explores a county guarded by generations of fairy-smiths. A vulnerable boy with a strange past draws the wrath of a powerful enemy, forcing one magical family to protect him.

The Romantic, by William Boyd (2022). This is an exciting fictional biography from a 19th-century adventurer born in 1799. Cashel Greville Ross lives a sweeping, unpredictable life across continents and centuries, searching for identity, purpose, and love in the heart of the Romantic age.
