With the original slip case. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-nine full page images. Collated complete. A collection of twenty-five short biographical essays on famous people, including: Earl of Rosebery, Kaiser Wilhelm II, George Bernard Shaw, Joseph Chamberlain, Sir John French, John Morley, Hindenburg, and more. The original collection was published in 1937 and included twenty-one essays mainly written between 1928 and 1931. Four were added to the book in the 1939 edition, about Lord Fisher, Charles Stewart Parnell, Lord Baden-Powell and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Written by Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, a British statesman, military officer, and writer who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. With an introduction from Celia Sandys, the granddaughter of Sir Winston Churchill and the author of five books on Churchill.

Condition

In the original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Original paper covered slip case is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
