First edition of this pop-up book. Very scarce work. Illustrated with six pop-up scenes with six pull-tabs for moving parts. Collated complete, with all pop-up and moving parts in excellent working condition. A collection of the fables attributed to Aesop, a Greek fabulist and storyteller noted for his tales characterized by anthropomorphic animal characters. Many of the tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages in a storytelling tradition that continues to this day. With titles including: The Hare and the Tortoise, The Fox and the Grapes, and The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. Illustrated by Agnese Baruzzi, an Italian author and illustrator of children's books.
Condition
In the original paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. With all pop-up and moving parts in excellent working condition.
