First UK edition of this new, updated and revised edition, second impression. Illustrated throughout. Larousse Gastronomique is an encyclopedia of gastronomy first published in Paris in 1938. The majority of the book is about French cuisine, containing recipes for French dishes and cooking techniques. The first edition included few non-French dishes and ingredients, with later editions include many more. Edited by Joël Robuchon, a French chef and restaurateur who was named "Chef of the Century" by the guide Gault Millau in 1989 and awarded the Meilleur Ouvrier de France in cuisine in 1976. He was appointed chair for the committee for the Larousse Gastronomique.
Condition
In the original paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. With the original paper covered slip case also in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
