This hardcover book features over 100 of Aesop's best-known fables, such as "The Hare and the Tortoise" and "The Fox and the Mask", "The Mule", "The Weary Ass", "The Bees and Zeus", "The Fox and the Sour Grapes", to name a few, each accompanied by stunning Indian ink illustrations by Alice Shirley.
Aesop was a storyteller who is thought to have lived in ancient Greece around the 6th century BCE. He is best known for his collection of fables featuring anthropomorphic animals that illustrate moral lessons of honesty, wisdom and kindness. These fables have become enduring classics, continuing to be shared with generation after generation.

In the publisher's original pictorial hardback. Externally, excellent. One or two very minor handling marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
