What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Two volumes. First edition. An annual hardback volume of records relating to the history of Gloucestershire. The Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society have published thirty-five volumes since 1988, with these being volumes twenty-two and twenty-three. The edited records cover a huge range of history, from medieval to the early 1900s, with the common feature being that works are previously unpublished and likely to be a useful resource for future researchers and students. Both of these volumes contain records of the Feet of Fines, which have long been the standard sources used by English local historians. A foot of fine is the record of an agreement that resolved a dispute, real or pretend, commonly about the ownership of land. Edited by Christopher Robin Elrington, an English historian. This set contains: Abstracts of Feet of Fines Relating to Gloucestershire 1300-1359, 2006. Abstracts of Feet of Fines Relating to Gloucestershire 1360-1508, 2013.
