A first edition, first impression copy. 

Paul Strand was an American photographer and filmmaker. He was one of the modernist photographers, along with Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Weston, who helped establish photograph as an art form in the 20th century. 

Through Strand's photography he sought to express the feelings and emotions of the land and the people he photographed. He photographs are embedded with honesty and respect for his subjects with a distinct clarity and love of geometric form. 

With fifty six plates and other in-text illustrations.
Collated, complete. 

In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper which is also excellent.
