This striking work displays a beautiful series of ornithological illustrations by Swedish artist Lars Jonsson, who is renowned for his accuracy and talent in depicting many species. With commentary on each of his works, including those pulled from his sketch books. 

With a foreword by art historian Hans Henrik Brummer and an introductory essay by Staffan Soderblom, as well as a conversation between author Bjorn Linnell and the artist. 

Illustrations are presented here largely in colour throughout.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with only minor shelf wear. Dust wrapper is also excellent, with very minor shelf wear to the spine head and tail. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
