What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Proof Copy, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Dustwrapper

Includes two first editions, including the paperback uncorrected proof copy.

The general edition is signed by the author to half-title page. With an unclipped dust wrapper.

The Icarus Girl was Oyeyemi's first novel, written whilst she was still at sixth form and published just a few years later. She was born in Nigeria, then moved to London as a child, an experience that she draws on in this novel. The Icarus Girl follows the bookish eight-year-old Jessamy Harrison as she visits Nigeria for the first time and meets the mysterious TillyTilly. This haunting Gothic tale has received praise from the likes of Ali Smith and was nominated for the 2005 Otherwise Award.
