Flesh and Blood (2004). The first book in the Frank Elder series. Frank Elder, a retired detective drawn back into an old case involving the disappearance of a teenage girl.

Darkness and Light (2006). The second in the series, Elder, still retired, helps a former colleague investigate the murder of a woman in Nottingham.

Darkness, Darkness (2014). The final in the series, returning to help with a case linked to the 1980s UK miners’ strike, Elder confronts unresolved issues with his daughter and past.
