First edition, first printing. A semi-autobiographical novel inspired by Ephron's marriage with Carl Bernstein. Rachel, a cookbook writer, and Mark, a syndicated columnist, had a happy marriage, or so Rachel though until Mark told her they needed to end things. The film adaptation was released in 1986, directed by Mike Nichols starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson. Written by Nora Ephron, an American journalist, writer, and filmmaker. She is best known for writing and directing romantic comedy films and has received numerous accolades including a British Academy Film Award and nominations for three Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award and three Writers Guild of America Awards.

Condition

In the original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is smart with light wear and sunning to the extremities. The odd small mark to the panels with creases to the front fly leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
