First edition. Limited to two hundred and twenty-six copies, numbered and lettered in handbound boards, of which this is number one hundred and thirteen. Scarce work. A collection of poetry from Henry Charles Bukowski, a German-American poet, novelist, and short story writer whose writing was influenced by the social, cultural, and economic ambience of his adopted home city of Los Angeles. With titles including: Am I the Only One Who Suffers Thus?, Hurry Slowly, and The Cigarette of the Sun. From the New Year's Greeting of the Black Sparrow Press, a New England based independent book publisher, known for literary fiction and poetry. Originally founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1966 by John Martin and Barbara Martin in order to publish the works of Charles Bukowski and other avant-garde authors.

In the original bright paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
