Reissue of the 1943 edition, originally published as two hundred copies. With additional material and an introduction by Merlin Holland, a British biographer and editor. Limited to one hundred and forty numbered copies in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the publication. This is number A13 of a series of A1-A50 issued to members of the club only. A commentary on The Saintsbury Club, a long-standing, small, and exclusive society of individuals with shared interests in wine and letters. The club was founded in 1931 in London to honor the literary scholar George Saintsbury, the author of the classic wine book Notes on a Cellar-Book. With chapters on the president, the club, members, the cellar, and meetings, as well as notes on the wines. Written by “The Cellarer” or Andre L. Simon, a French-born wine merchant, gourmet, and prolific writer about wine.

In the original paper wraps. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
