'We Are All Guilty' was Amis' first novel for young readers, in which a teenager named Clive Rayner faces household tensions and, ultimately, decides to break in to a warehouse. He must face the consequences of this, and grapple with his sense of guilt and need for punishment.

Kingsley Amis (1922-1995) was an English novelist, poet, critic, and teacher. He wrote more than twenty novels and six volumes of poetry, along with short stories and radio scripts. He was awarded the CBE in 1981 and was knighted in 1990.
