A compendium of books, manuscripts, and associated documentation on all manner of smoking, snuffing, and chewing tobacco. With special emphasis on the Western World in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, accounting for the curious customs, accoutrements, appurtenances, utensils, accessories, and other related items. Written by Benjamin Rapaport, an American antique pipe collector and tobacco bibliophile. Known internationally as an avid pipe smoker, he was inducted into the International Academy of the Pipe in 1985, into the Confrerie des Maitres-Pipiers de Saint-Claude, France in 1989, and was the recipient of the prestigious “Doctor of Pipes” achievement award from the Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club in 2004.

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
