A limited edition of 500 copies. This copy is signed by the publisher, Christopher Skelton, to the limitation page.
This copy's previous owner was Gerald Cinamon, who was Penguin Books' main designer of arts and architecture titles for 20 years from 1965, becoming its chief designer in the mid-1970s. Laid-in to this work is an order slip and receipt for Cinamon's copy of this work (requesting it to be sent to the publisher, signed and returned) together with a humble letter in reply from Skelton thanking him.

This volume comprises a series of engraved reproductions of figures designed by Edward Gordon Craig, an innovative modernist theatre practitioner who was the son of famous actress Dame Ellen Terry. These figures were typically cut out of wood and were used for Craig's model stages.
With an unpublished essay by Craig as well as an introduction by L. M. Newman.
Condition
In the original cloth binding, with paper spine label. Externally, lovely. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. With the original glassine in excellent condition.
