Knighted for her services to literature, and a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Rose Tremain is a prolific novelist of historical fiction. The Cupboard is an intriguing novel that follows the life of the colourful Erica March as she tries to discover the last secret in her life. The Gustav Sonata, winner of the National Jewish Book Award in 2016 and Ribalow Prize in 2017, is a thought-provoking novel loosely based on Paul Grüninger, a Swiss police commander who saved over 3,000 refugees.

In the publisher's original cloth, in the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, in excellent condition. Dust wrappers are very smart, with the occasional small mark to Sonata. End papers are bright and clean. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
