Rosamunde Pilcher was best known for her novels surrounding life in Cornwall, as well as for her romantic themes. Her breakthrough novel 'The Shell Seekers' surrounds life during and after war, with its popularity leading it to becoming adapted into a stage play by Terence Brady and a television series starring Angela Lansbury.
