This copy is a limited edition of this work, being number 13 of 75 copies signed and inscribed by the author, "Wilkie" W. E. Wilkinson, to the title page, Silverstone, 10th July, 1987.
This copy was signed by Wilkinson during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone, where Nigel Mansell achieved a famous victory after an incredible comeback drive.
This is a detailed and personal biography of Wilkie Wilkinson, illustrated with monochrome photographs throughout.
W. E. Wilkinson (1917–2001), known as “Wilkie,” was one of Britain’s most celebrated racing mechanics and team managers, instrumental in the success of Ecurie Ecosse and Aston Martin’s 1959 Le Mans victory.

Bound in the publisher's original half morocco binding with cloth boards. Externally, smart. Slight fading to spine. One or two very slight handling marks to boards. Slipcase, a little worn. Fading, spotting and discolouration to extremities. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss to cloth. The odd slight handling mark to boards and spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots to fore edge. Signed and inscribed by the author to the title page.
