First edition. The story of a circle of Oxford University graduates in 1980s England. The eponymous book being a theoretical work on Marxism which is to be written by a member of the group, which the friends had agreed to finance as a 'brotherhood'. After graduating they grow uneasy as no written work is in sight. Written by Dame Jean Iris Murdoch, an Irish and British novelist and philosopher, best known for her novels about good and evil, sexual relationships, morality, and the power of the unconscious.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
