What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Limited Edition, Original Binding, Signed

Bound in original bright red cloth, this is an excellent copy of the influential title that has held the monopoly on English horticultural writing since the 18th Century, as is echoed by its many reprintings.

Walpole is perhaps more known for his fiction work, including his publication of the "first gothic novel", 'The Castle of Otranto', in 1764. His writings, here, are fittingly offset with 6 striking monochrome lithograph illustrations, including the title page.
Collated, complete.

Part of a limited publication of 200 copies, of which this is number 43, and signed by illustrator Alan Powers to the colophon.

Condition

Bound in red cloth. Externally, excellent condition. Minor marks to back board. Spotting to top edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean.
