First edition. The first of the Albert Edward, Prince of Wales novels. Fred Archer, the greatest of all jockeys, popularly known as the Tinman, has shot himself. Albert, Prince of Wales, has decided to investigate the mystery and an inquest is arranged with indecent haste. Written by Peter Harmer Lovesey, a British writer of historical and contemporary detective novels and short stories best known for his series featuring Sergeant Cribb, a Victorian-era police detective based in London, and Peter Diamond, a modern-day police detective in Bath.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout with a small ink stamp to the front endpaper.
