This set offers four excellent short-story collections, each of which are brought to life with Jan Pienkowski's illustrations.

Pienkowski was a Polish-born British author of children's books and a designer of movable books, best known for illustrating the 'Meg and Mog' picture book series. For his contribution as a children's illustrator he was UK nominee in 1982 and again in 2008 for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award

Past Eight O'Clock (1986) - A collection of eight stories by Joan Aiken about the mysterious world of sleeping, dreams and bedtime.

The Thousand Nights and One Night (2007) - Retellings of classic tales from Arabian Nights by David Walser.

The Glass Mountain (2014) - A retelling of eight of the best-loved Polish folk tales by David Walser, with Pienkowski's vibrant and witty paper cut illustrations.
