First edition. The final novel in what has been referred to as his biblical or religious trilogy. The story follows the birth of Christianity and its interaction with the Roman Empire is told largely chronologically by a narrator slowly succumbing to disease during the reign of Domitian. Written by John Anthony Burgess Wilson, who published under the name Anthony Burgess, a British writer and composer best known for his dystopian satire A Clockwork Orange.

Condition

In the original brown cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear to the extremities and light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
