Written by Herbert G. Ponting, a British photographer and member of the Terra Nova expedition with Captain Scott. Ponting had a particular fondness for Japan, and took thousands of photographs of the area during his many travels to the region. In Lotus-Land Japan captures the country across all four seasons and includes Tokyo Bay, fortune tellers and 'The Great Volcanoes', all produced within the backdrop of the impending Russo-Japanese war.

In the publisher's original cloth binding in the original slipcase. Externally in lovely condition. Slipcase is very smart with the occasional handling mark. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Slipcase is near fine.
