An exploration of the life and work of Charles Robert Ashbee, an English architect and designer and prime mover of the Arts and Crafts movement. His mediums included metalwork, textiles, furniture and jewellery and he was elected Master of the Art Workers' Guild in 1929. 

This work explores Ashbee's personal life in the first eight chapters, with the next six focusing on his craft.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with only a hint of shelf wear to the spine. Dust wrapper is very smart, with bumping to the edges. Internally, firmly bound. Contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper, otherwise bright and clean.
