Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Dustwrapper

First edition. Signed by the author Ranulph Fiennes. Illustrated with four maps and numerous colour photographs. An account of Bothie, the celebrated Jack Russell who went around the world with the Transglobe Expedition and has put four paws on both Poles. His loyal bark earned him private chats with the expedition patron H.R.H. Prince Charles, now King Charles III, and upon his return was invited to do a circuit of honour at Crufts. Bothie was owned by Ranulph Fiennes and Ginny Fiennes and accompanied the team on the circumpolar Transglobe Expedition from 1979 to 1982. Written by Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, a British explorer, writer and poet, who holds several endurance records, and his wife Virginia Frances, Lady Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, an English explorer who was the first woman to be awarded the Polar Medal, and the first woman to be voted in to join the Antarctic Club in recognition of her research work for the British Antarctic Survey.
