Facsimile collection, being Series A, Volume I of six. A collection of reproductions of original sheet music for plays and theatre, originally published by Henry Playford, an English music publisher, the younger son and only known surviving child of John Playford, and Robert Carr, an English politician, and favourite of King James VI and I. This volume contains The Theatre of Music, volumes I to IV, first published between 1685 and 1687. With an introduction from Robert Spencer.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
