Oswald Wirth's concise and detailed introduction to tarot, a useful guide for the novice, advising on the meaning and divitionary use of tarot. 

Wirth was a leading Swiss occultist who created a cartomantic Tarot alongside Stanislas de Guaita, which were known as "Les 22 Arcanes du Tarot Kabbalistique". This pack was significant in the history of tarot, and became the first in a long line of occult, cartomantic, and initiatory decks. 

Illustrated throughout with examples of Wirth's cards.

With a foreword by Stuart R. Kaplan. 

This work was first published in French in 1931 as 'Introduction à l’Etude du Tarot '.

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, smart. Very light edge wear to the wraps. Only a few minor marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
