What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

First edition. Illustrated throughout with numerous colour images. Written during what has been called the golden age of arcade video games, the book comprises three parts: a survey of the 1980s arcade scene in major cities; cheat sheets with tips and tricks for prominent games, including Space Invaders, Defender and Pac-Man; and a look to the future with the impending arrival of home gaming. English writer and videogame enthusiast Simon Parkin in The Guardian described it as "a valuable snapshot of early critical thinking about video games". Written by Sir Martin Louis Amis, an English novelist, essayist, memoirist, screenwriter and critic. With an introduction by Steven Allan Spielberg, an American filmmaker and a major figure of the New Hollywood era pioneering the modern blockbuster. He is also an arcade game enthusiast.
