The first edition of the work.

A lovely collection of items related to the Fairlop Oak and Fairlop Fair, a festival that lasted for a full week each year, drawing crowds of up to 300,000 people in the area of Ilford. 

Contained in a cream card box tied with brown ribbon, this set includes a limited edition stitched card booklet about the oak and the fair, illustrated throughout, with this copy being no. 76 out of 400. 

It also includes a stitched card facsimile of a rare history of the fair entitled Fairlop and its Founder by a Famed First Friday Fairgoer, with the original booklet being published in 1847.

With a single card page summarizing the history of the fair with an illustrated oak to the top, four double page loose plates depicting photographs and illustrations of the fair, and a pamphlet of Barkingside and The Fairlop Oak, one-hundred years ago. 

Condition

In card wraps, in a card box. Externally, excellent. The odd light mark to box front. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
